Can you post the repair tool so everybody can use it. Just had the issue yesterday/today 6/20/2014 and was resolved with Microsoft Support in about 3 minutes with Streets and Trips 2013. I called the number (866) 452-4755 listed in prior messages. No options seemed correct so I chose Windows option and was transferred. Once connected, I asked for a number in case I got disconnected. (800) 642-7676 for Game Support.
They did ask for a case # but did not hesitate to help when I did not have it and I was not charged. Top notch support. Saab Wis 2010 Isoo here. I should have called last night instead of un-installing and re-installing. I purchased Streets & Trips 2013 to replace my older issue and attained the same lousy pinnacle. Or so while he tried to fix it only to be told I needed to contact Microsoft support 'at their hourly cost' to repair same. I'll never purchase another similar piece from Microsoft. I've switched over to my Garmin for my info. Microsoft support is a joke as far as I'm concerned.
Ken / Marvin, I have had the licensing about once a year since I believe the 2010 version. I use the 2011 version now and also have the 2013 version on my Surface but don't like using it on my surface because of screen size. My 2011 version messed up in March or April of this year and Microsoft used the reset tool once again to fix it. It quit me again a couple weeks ago and when I called Microsoft I was told the repair tool was down to call again in 24 to 48 hours. Isn't the tool just a zip file? What could go down with that? Any way, now the support for Streets and Trips has ended and they are still telling me it is down to call back in 24 to 48 hours.
Is this a problem they are going to continue to fix or am I just wasting my time calling them? I know re-installing the software doesn't work because the error does something to the computer. Will re- installing the operating system fix the issue?
The online maps are not an option for me. I deliver seed to farmers and have approx. 170 locations saved in western Missouri and eastern Kansas along with the contact information in the pushpin boxes and use a usb gps to get to my deliveries.
Am I correct that an online map has to have internet service to use or can the map be downloaded and saved on the computer. What is the probability that Microsoft will release a file for us to use to fix this issue ourselves if they are not going to continue to repair? Thanks, Donald. Gas Turbine Simulation Programs. Hi Donald, - The software 'tool' has an expiry date.
Perhaps that may be somehow related to them telling you the tool was unavailable at that time and to call them back later. - I suspect, after the support for the product ends, the chance of them providing any further help may be very small. - Re-installing the OS + S&T would have likely helped in the past, but I'm not sure if the software activation would still work now, whether or not the Microsoft's software activation service for S&T is still in operation, and/or if MSFT would be willing and able to re-activate your S&T over the phone if needed. - 'What is the probability that Microsoft will release a file for us to use to fix this issue ourselves if they are not going to continue to repair?' I'd say very close to none.
